John V. Gulisane
Elementary School Principal
I feel honored to serve as your Elementary School Principal. My job is both rewarding and challenging. I take the responsibility to provide leadership and direction to our school and students very seriously. At the same time, I enjoy what I do and look forward to coming to work daily. They say that working with elementary aged children helps keep you feeling young. This may be true, but my experience is that most of us who work with the children feel pretty tired by the time we leave for the day.
I hope to be more involved as an instructional leader, particularly in the area of curriculum design and implementation. In order to do this, I plan to be in the classrooms as much as possible. At the same time, I will continue to focus attention on certain initiatives already underway including our Pre-K program and literacy instruction. Eventually, I hope to see every eligible district residents’ child have the opportunity to attend a high quality Pre-K program. We will continue to build on our early literacy efforts, especially in Kindergarten and First Grade.
I wish to reiterate that our elementary school faculty and staff are committed to providing our students with a solid academic foundation during such critical, formative years of schooling. We wish to maintain and strengthen a partnership with parents and community as we work collaboratively to ensure that all of our students continue to love learning, stretch themselves academically and socially, and are fully prepared to be successful for the middle school and beyond.
I look forward enthusiastically to the challenges and opportunities of providing the leadership necessary to make Taconic Hills Elementary School the very best that it can be. Please feel free to contact me at 325-2820 with any questions or concerns.
