Student Drop Off Sign

Good Evening -

We’d like to take a moment to remind everyone of the importance of following safe and efficient drop-off procedures during morning arrival at the Elementary and Jr./Sr. High Schools.

We have noticed that some drivers are stopping in the drive lane—particularly near the crosswalk—to drop off students instead of pulling into the designated parking spaces or the drop off lane. While we understand the morning rush can be hectic, this practice disrupts traffic flow and, more importantly, creates a safety risk for students. There have been instances where children exit vehicles abruptly or cross in front of cars actively pulling out of parking spaces, increasing the risk of accidents.

To ensure the safety of all students and maintain a smooth drop-off process, we kindly ask that drivers:

✅ Pull into the drop off lane rather than pulling up to the curb or dropping off in the parking lot.

⏩ Follow the speed limit and be aware of foot and vehicle traffic.

🚫 Avoid stopping in the drive lane or at the crosswalk for drop-offs.

🚗 Be mindful of cars pulling out of parking spots and students crossing.

We appreciate your cooperation in helping us maintain a safe and efficient arrival process for all students. If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to reach out. Please also feel free to visit our Drop Off & Pickup Procedures webpage here.

Thank you for helping us ensure the safety of our students and staff.

Sincerely,

Lynnette Brunger, Superintendent of Schools
